The Wellington group boasts a growing membership for both the car and motorcycle divisions and enquiries about membership are most welcome. If you’re interested in finding out more, please email the Chair at: firstname.lastname@example.org.
The local group is run by a volunteer management committee made up of:
- Chair (Peter Hookham, also National Vice-President)
- Membership Secretary (Paul Kane)
- Carey Griffiths (National President)
- Wendy Betteridge (Car Observer Team Leader)
- Andy Crawford (Motorcycle Observer Team Leader).
The committee meets on the first Wednesday of the month in Plimmerton and both Carey and Peter serve on National Council.
The car group has plans to get together for social drives incorporating training elements. If you have an interest in improving your driving skills to an advanced standard then please make contact. We will arrange for an observer to take you out for an initial drive and then you can then decide whether you’d like to join up and begin the journey to becoming a full member.
The motorcycle group’s social rides take place on the last Sunday of the month, starting at Percy’s Reserve Car Park, Off Dowse Drive, Maungaraki, Lower Hutt. All riders are welcome to attend and for those interested in knowing more about IAM and the Roadcraft system, we can partner you with experienced IAM Member for an observed ride, which simply means one of our members would watching you and giving some feedback on how Roadcraft could influence your riding style.
Wellington news and events are circulated to members through regular newsletters and the IAM Facebook national and regional pages.
