Porirua is just off State Highway 1. It is:
17 km north of the Wellington Ferry Terminal
30 km north of Wellington Airport
73 km south of Levin
If arriving at the airport (without a car) there is a very good Airport Bus from just outside the Airport Terminal. Get off at Wellington Railway Station. https://www.wellingtonairport.co.nz/transport/airport-flyer-bus/
Trains run regularly from here on the Kapiti Line – to Mana Station if you’re coming to the Friday dinner or to Porirua Station if you’re arriving on Saturday morning. Both stations are easy walking distance from any one of the venues. https://www.metlink.org.nz/timetables/train/KPL

Timing: 6.00 pm until you want to leave
A social dinner has been arranged at The Supply Room, 105 Mana Esplanade, Paremata, Porirua 5026. Dinner will be at your expense on the evening and there will be an open bar. We have organised a special price for a $30 menu (which could change slightly before then) so that you can choose from the following:
Main: Grilled Angus Beef burger, bacon, beetroot, Swiss cheese, onion rings, tomato relish, salad greens & a basket of fries or Asian style warm chicken salad, cherry tomato, cucumber, capsicum, cashews, honey rosemary dressing or Steak’n’Chips, sirloin steak, salad with red wine jus & chips or Crumbed Schnitzel, served with fries, red wine jus & green salad or Pasta Mushroom, spinach & sundried tomato fettucine in a creamy white wine sauce.
Dessert: Ice Cream Sundae – with your choice of chocolate, passionfruit, berry or caramel sauce with chopped nuts & wafer or Death by chocolate – chocolate brownie, Whittaker’s chocolate mousse, whipped vanilla cream, dark chocolate garnish.
There will be a welcome to the event from Peter Hookham, Chair of the Wellington Group, but no other formal programme for the evening.
Timing: 9.00 am start. Dinner will be served at 6.30 pm and you can leave when you like.
The whole of Saturday will be spent at The Porirua Club, 1 Lodge Place, Porirua and a full programme, including the AGM, is planned.
Morning and afternoon tea, and dinner are included in the Conference fee.
The choices from the set dinner menu are as follows.
Main: Roast Pork or Lasagna (vegetarian if required) or Fish and Chips. Gluten free meals can be provided on request.
Dessert: Ice cream and chocolate sauce or fruit salad and ice cream or sticky date pudding with ice cream and cream
Coffee or tea
This menu will be on display when you register, either on Friday evening or on Saturday morning when you will be asked to make a choice about which options you want to select.
There are plenty of outlets within walking distance where you can buy your own lunch. A map of the Porirua CBD is attached. Parking is free all day on Saturday in the area shown on the map.
Timing: 9.00 am until you want to break away and return home.
We are organising a series of routes for group drives and rides. We are aware members will be returning home in different directions and at different times. The routes on offer will take those factors into account and will be led by members with local knowledge. There will be an option to add some gravel road riding to some of the bike routes if there is a desire to do that.
We have set the conference fee at $50 per member, which covers morning and afternoon tea and the evening meal on Saturday (not lunch). If you can give us some indication now – no pressure! – it will mean that we can send out the detailed formal application, hopefully by November. At that time we will, of course, give you details about what we have planned for Saturday and Sunday.
